Kaizen Food Rescue and Frontline Farming are partnering to provide a 6-workshop series on Saturdays from April to September. Frontline Farming is a women-led and BIPOC-led food and farmer advocacy group focused on growing food, education, sovereignty, and justice. All workshops will be 2 hours long from 10 am to 12 pm which includes activities for youth, children and their parents, as well as a lunch provided by a local caterer. The first workshop session will be on April 30th from 10 am to 12 pm at Celebration Community Garden (1650 S Birch St., Denver, CO 80222). Lunch will be provided for the participants and their families. Our first session will be an introduction to farming, community gardens, and community building. Youth and children will learn from the farmers and educators from Frontline Farming about their work in Colorado and engage in hands-on team building activities that will be focused on observation and communication skills. Parents and guardians will be able to participate in a nutrition workshop provided by our community leaders and VeggieRX participants, Minelly Martinez and Alan Gonzalez.
